Bio:
A life-long resident of Maine, Mary Libby Herbert has combined her persistent, creative energy with her passion for the State of Maine to become one of Maine's most successful real estate brokers since beginning her career in 2002. Since 2003, Herbert has been the leader in the one to five million dollar price point in the coastal town of Cape Elizabeth, selling more waterfront property than any other broker, working as both a listing and selling agent.
Herbert's portfolio began with the Cape Elizabeth waterfront market and extended to properties in all of Southern Maine. Her real estate experience encompasses all of Greater Portland, including Portland's West End and the islands of Casco Bay, as well as extensive land development. She works with buyers and sellers in all price ranges and is passionate about the relationships she develops with her clients.
Extending beyond her real estate career is her portfolio of home renovations and she welcomes the opportunity to work on design projects involving complete renovation, interior design and new builds. She prides herself in what she considers a gifted ability to transform properties with a keen eye and a savvy sense of color and space.
Herbert re-joined the Portland based RE/MAX By The Bay in January 2012 (where she had worked from 2003 to 2008) after working at The Swan Agency Sotheby's International Realty and was the top producer for all Maine- based Sotheby’s International Realty affiliates in 2011. Herbert was former owner/broker of Mainestyle Realty in Cape Elizabeth from 2009 to 2010 and also had affiliations with Legacy Properties Sotheby's International Realty, RE/MAX by the Bay and Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.
A recipient of many distinguished sales awards for Maine and New England, Herbert is known for her unique, independent approach, sense of humor, and flair for architecture and design. Her interests include writing, reading, design, collecting art, yoga and many outdoor activities.
Herbert is a 1978 graduate of the University of New Hampshire and is the mother of three adult children and four grandchildren. She resides in Cape Elizabeth.
